The Department of Meteorology has issued a yellow weather warning for isolated strong storms, in force from 9pm tonight until 6pm on Thursday.
Tonight and through the morning, storms are expected to affect coastal areas. During the midday and afternoon hours on Thursday, the main impact will shift to mountainous regions and inland areas.
Hail is possible during the most intense storms, and winds will be variable and strengthening.
