Cyprus tourist arrivals up 9.5% in February as UK and Poland lead the way

Tourist arrivals in Cyprus rose 9.5 per cent in February 2026, reaching 146,516 compared with 133,760 in the same month a year earlier, according to figures released by the Statistical Service.

For the January–February period, arrivals totalled 268,141, up 9.1 per cent from 245,860 over the same two months in 2025.

The United Kingdom was the top source market in February, accounting for 19.3 per cent of arrivals with 28,217 visitors. Poland came second with 18.4 per cent (27,003), followed by Israel at 12.6 per cent (18,530), Greece at 9.3 per cent (13,604) and Germany at 6.6 per cent (9,723).

Holidays were the primary reason for travel, cited by 61.5 per cent of visitors, up from 60.3 per cent in February 2025. Visits to friends or relatives accounted for 21.6 per cent, while business travel fell to 16.7 per cent from 19.1 per cent a year earlier.

Outbound travel by Cyprus residents also rose sharply, with 152,198 trips recorded in February 2026 — a 22.5 per cent increase from 124,232 in February 2025. Greece was the most popular destination, accounting for 30.8 per cent of trips (46,902), ahead of the UK at 8.1 per cent (12,349), Italy at 4.2 per cent (6,382) and Poland at 4.1 per cent (6,287). The vast majority of residents travelled for holidays (78.7 per cent), with business accounting for 19.2 per cent, studies 1.5 per cent and other reasons 0.6 per cent.
