Bomb explodes under woman’s car in Limassol; second car damaged

A low-powered improvised explosive device exploded under a 45-year-old woman’s car in the Ayios Spyridonas area of Limassol at 4:20 a.m., police said.

An officer and members of Limassol CID went to the scene immediately. Police said on-site examinations showed the blast was caused by a low-powered homemade explosive device placed beneath the woman’s vehicle.

The explosion triggered a fire, damaging the 45-year-old’s car and a second vehicle belonging to a relative, which was parked next to it.

Examinations at the scene are continuing.
