Police arrest 28-year-old over Limassol riot and assault case

Police arrested a 28-year-old man on Saturday night in connection with a case involving conspiracy to commit a felony and rioting linked to offences committed in Limassol on December 26, 2025.

Police said 12 other people had already been arrested on December 27, 2025, in connection with the same case.

The incident came to light at around 9 pm on December 26, when police received information about a fight in the Agia Zoni area of Limassol.

Officers from Limassol police headquarters and Limassol CID went to the scene, where they found blood stains, a piece of iron with traces of blood and a pair of shoes.

Police later found 12 people in a flat in the area, including an 18-year-old who had injuries to his head, legs and various other parts of his body.

An ambulance was called to the scene and took the 18-year-old to Limassol General Hospital.

Police said their inquiries showed that an incident had taken place involving several people, during which two other people were injured in addition to the 18-year-old.

All three injured people were taken to Limassol General Hospital, where they received first aid and were later discharged.

During a search of the flat, police found two cricket bats with stains believed to be blood, which were taken as evidence.
