A pistol and explosives were discovered yesterday in a Limassol district and have been seized by the police for further examination.
During a patrol and following a tip-off, members of the Limassol OPE (Special Police Unit) visited an area in a village of the district, where they found hidden items in an open space. These included a pistol, without a magazine, and five pieces of explosives weighing a total of 670 grams.
A bomb disposal expert from the Limassol Police Directorate, along with members of the Limassol CID, attended the scene for examination. The pistol and explosives were taken into police custody for specialized testing.
The Limassol CID is conducting an investigation.
