Nearly 1,000 repatriated to Cyprus as sixth flight arrives from UAE

A total of 950 people have been successfully repatriated to Cyprus, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, following the arrival of a sixth chartered flight from the United Arab Emirates on Saturday night.

The Ministry reported that the passengers are predominantly Cypriot citizens and their family members. The group also includes permanent residents of the Republic and citizens of other European Union member states.

Ongoing Consular Support

In an announcement released on Sunday, the Ministry noted that it will continue to provide consular assistance through its diplomatic missions to Cypriot citizens affected by regional developments. This support extends to those currently in the Middle East and beyond, with the ongoing goal of securing their return to Cyprus.

Inter-departmental Cooperation

The Ministry expressed its gratitude to the state services that have assisted in the operation, specifically highlighting the support provided by personnel from the Ministry of Defence and the Department of Civil Aviation.

The repatriation efforts remain a key priority as the government manages the impact of the regional crisis on its citizens abroad.
