At least 160 Italian Navy personnel will be deployed to the Cyprus area aboard an Italian vessel as part of a defence operation for the island, Italy’s Corriere della Sera reported.
The operation is being coordinated among Italy, Spain, France and the Netherlands, according to the newspaper. The exact number of personnel may vary depending on whether a frigate or a destroyer is assigned to the mission.
