Sirens sounded at the British base at Akrotiri at 16:31 on Thursday before the all-clear was given seven minutes later after no threat was detected.
Government Spokesperson Konstantinos Letymbiotis said the activation of security protocols and the sounding of sirens had been carried out as a precautionary measure. No threat had been identified, he said, and the measures had been stood down.
The competent authorities are continuing to monitor the situation closely in line with established procedures, Letymbiotis said.
