Flights to and from Cyprus’s two international airports are being cancelled after the United States and Israel launched military operations against Iran.
Airport operator Hermes Airports said 250 passengers have been affected so far.
All flights between Larnaca and Israel have been cancelled. At Paphos, Air Haifa services and Ryanair flights to Amman have also been pulled.
A Wizz Air flight that departed Larnaca for Tel Aviv at 07:35 this morning turned back and returned to Cyprus. Later cancellations at Larnaca include a Wizz Air arrival from Tel Aviv scheduled for 13:20, a Wizz Air departure to Abu Dhabi at 14:25, and a SunDor flight to Tel Aviv at 20:55.
Tomorrow, a Tus Air arrival from Israel due at 19:05 and a Tus Air departure to Israel scheduled for noon have both been cancelled.
At Paphos, Air Haifa’s arrival from Haifa at 16:00 and its return departure at 16:55 have been cancelled.
Two Wizz Air flights have also been diverted to Larnaca — one operating the Budapest–Amman route, the other the Sofia–Tel Aviv route. Passengers from both aircraft have disembarked and are awaiting flights back to Budapest and Sofia respectively.
Passengers are urged to contact their airline or travel agent before heading to the airport.
