Authorities have cancelled the Green Monday event in Voroklini following government measures linked to confirmed cases of foot-and-mouth disease.
In a statement, the Voroklini Municipal District said the Green Monday celebration, scheduled to take place at Prophet Elias Hill in the area, has been called off.
The decision was taken in line with government restrictions due to the site’s proximity to livestock units where cases of foot-and-mouth disease have been detected.
“The protection of public health and compliance with the relevant instructions are our absolute priority,” the announcement said.
The statement also cited adverse weather conditions, noting that they would not have allowed the event to proceed smoothly.
