Police have arrested a 42-year-old man in connection with an alleged stabbing and assault in the Paphos district in the early hours of Sunday.
Officers responded shortly after 3 am following reports that a patron at a premises in the district had been attacked. According to information gathered at the scene, the 42-year-old suspect, who was also at the venue, allegedly pulled out a knife and injured a 25-year-old man after a verbal altercation between them.
Both men were taken to Polis Chrysochous Hospital. Doctors found that the 25-year-old had sustained injuries to his neck and shoulder, while the 42-year-old had injuries to his head and face. They were later transferred to Paphos General Hospital for further examinations. The 25-year-old discharged himself voluntarily, while the 42-year-old was also released after receiving treatment.
Police are investigating the incident and the circumstances under which the two men were injured.
As part of the investigation, a court warrant was issued against the 42-year-old, who was subsequently arrested and remanded in custody.
The Polis Chrysochous Police Station is continuing inquiries.
