Isolated showers and frost risk expected on Green Monday

A weak low-pressure system is affecting the area, bringing unsettled conditions and a risk of isolated showers.

Tonight, the weather will be partly cloudy, with a chance of isolated showers, mainly in the west. Winds will blow north-westerly, light to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort, and the sea will be slight. Temperatures will drop to 7°C inland, 12°C along the west coast, around 9°C on the remaining coasts and 1°C in the higher mountains, where frost is expected to form locally.

Tomorrow, conditions will initially be partly cloudy, with isolated showers likely, mainly in the west and north. Gradually, skies will turn mostly cloudy, with local showers and isolated thunderstorms expected, chiefly in the south, the mountains and inland areas. Snow or sleet may fall on the highest peaks of the Troodos Mountains.

Winds will be westerly to north-westerly, light to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort, and the sea will remain slight. Temperatures will rise to around 14°C inland, 16°C on the coasts and 6°C in the higher mountains.

Tomorrow night, the weather will be mostly clear, although low cloud may develop locally. Winds will turn north-westerly to north-easterly, light at 3 Beaufort, and the sea will be calm to slight.

On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, conditions will be partly cloudy, with the possibility of isolated showers.

Temperatures will gradually edge up slightly until Wednesday, hovering close to seasonal averages, before falling on Thursday to below average levels.
