Police launched a major overnight operation across the country, deploying organised patrols to high-stakes urban areas to prevent serious crime and bolster public safety. The surge in presence aims to deter criminal activity, maintain public order, and reassure the community through immediate operational action.
Officers intercepted and searched 591 drivers and passengers during the sweep, leading to two immediate arrests: one for drink-driving and another for public insult.
Parallel inspections of 35 establishments resulted in six reports concerning underage entry and noise permit violations. Traffic units also identified eight ongoing cases of road violations during their checks.
Of the 101 total traffic reports issued, drink-driving offences dominated the figures, with 46 drivers caught over the limit. Police impounded seven vehicles as part of these investigations.
These coordinated operations will continue daily, utilising high-visibility patrols and targeted checks to suppress crime and protect the public.
