Justice Minister Konstantinos Fytiris has promised developments in the case of Ioanna Fotiou, known as Annie Alexui, saying authorities intend to gather evidence over her social media allegations through proper institutional channels.
Speaking on the state television channel, Fytiris said some steps were already under way but cautioned that a case could not be built on social media posts alone.
“There must be witness testimony and statements. The evidence is one part, and the investigation — which concerns the Police and which they will forward to the Law Office — is the process being followed,” he said.
Asked who would be called upon to investigate Annie’s allegations, the minister said the matter would be decided together with the Law Office. “Either it will appoint an independent investigator or someone she trusts,” he said.
Fytiris added that institutions could not collect evidence or take statements publicly through social media. “A solution will be found and we will have updates on the case soon,” he said.
