Scattered showers on Wednesday with rain and storms building through to Friday

Scattered showers will hit Cyprus on Wednesday under partly cloudy skies, with rain and storms building through the rest of the week before conditions ease on Saturday.

Winds will blow southwest to west at 3 to 4 Beaufort, with local gusts reaching 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea will be up to rough. Temperatures will reach around 19 degrees Celsius inland and on the western and northern coasts, around 21 degrees on the southern and eastern coasts, and around 8 degrees in the higher mountains.

Wednesday night stays partly cloudy with isolated showers continuing at intervals. Winds ease to mainly weak southwest to west, locally up to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea will be slightly rough to rough.

Thursday will be mainly cloudy with isolated showers initially in the western half of the island, spreading to local rain and possibly isolated storms elsewhere later in the day. Friday brings cloudy skies with local rain and isolated storms across the island.

Saturday starts mainly cloudy with possible local showers before gradually improving through the day.

Temperatures will drop slightly through to Friday then edge back up on Saturday, staying slightly above the average for the season.
