Cyprus faces local rain and isolated thunderstorms from Tuesday afternoon, mainly in the western half of the island, with snow or sleet possible on the highest Troodos peaks.
The weather will be mainly cloudy at intervals on Tuesday, with showers and isolated thunderstorms expected after midday, concentrated in the west.
Winds will blow mainly southwest to west, initially light to moderate at force 3-4 Beaufort but strengthening later to moderate to strong at force 4-5 Beaufort. The sea will be slightly rough.
Temperatures will reach around 19°C inland and on the coast, and 11°C in the higher mountains.
Tuesday evening will be partly cloudy with isolated showers and a possible isolated thunderstorm, again mainly in the western half of the island. Winds will blow mainly southwest to west at force 3-4 Beaufort, reaching force 4-5 Beaufort locally on the coast.
Wednesday and Thursday will see isolated rain and thunderstorms at intervals, whilst Friday will bring widespread rain and isolated thunderstorms. Snow or sleet remains possible on the highest Troodos peaks.
Dust is expected in the atmosphere from Thursday evening onwards.
Temperatures will drop gradually to fluctuate near the average for the season.
