Cyprus’ gas reserves in Block 10 of its Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) are estimated at 6-9 trillion cubic feet, according to ExxonMobil.
The figure was revealed during a meeting between President Nicos Christodoulides and ExxonMobil Vice President John Ardill on 23 January 2026 at the Presidential Palace.
According to a press release by the Presidency, Christodoulides welcomed Ardill and highlighted ExxonMobil’s significant role in Cyprus’ EEZ, describing the company’s presence as a vote of confidence. He also mentioned that they would discuss future plans for Blocks 5 and 10, with the government open to discussions on additional blocks.
Ardill noted that ExxonMobil’s operations in Cyprus’ EEZ had been successful, particularly at the “Pegasus” field. He expressed the company’s intention to continue its dynamic approach in the region.
The ExxonMobil executive added that the aim is to move forward with the commercialisation and production of the discovered natural gas as soon as possible. He noted that the total gas quantity in the “Glaucus” and “Pegasus” fields within Block 10 is estimated at 6-9 trillion cubic feet.
