UN Secretary-General’s personal envoy María Ángela Holguín will convene a joint meeting between President Nikos Christodoulides and Turkish Cypriot leader Tufan Erhürman on 28 January, the United Nations in Cyprus announced on Friday.
Holguín, who will be on the island from 26 to 29 January, will hold separate meetings with Christodoulides and Erhürman on 27 January, following discussions with negotiators from both sides the previous day.
The UN spokesperson in Cyprus said in a written statement that Holguín has just completed a visit to Brussels, where she met with EU High Representative Kaja Kallas.
The envoy will travel next to Cyprus, where she will meet with the Turkish Cypriot and Greek Cypriot negotiators on 26 January as part of her efforts, the statement said.
On 27 January, she will hold separate meetings with the Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot leaders.
The following day, Holguín will convene the joint meeting between Erhürman and Christodoulides as a follow-up to their 11 December 2025 meeting, the statement concluded.
