13 European arrest warrants issued for Annie Alexui after complaints from MP and police

A member of parliament is among 13 people who filed complaints against Ioanna Fotiou, known on social media as Annie Alexui, leading to the issue of 13 European arrest warrants.

Paphos DISY MP Charalambos Pazaros filed a complaint against the 43-year-old from Paphos, sources told philenews. The complaints came mainly from officers at Paphos Police Directorate, whom she had named in connection with various cases over time.

Others who filed complaints include former Paphos police director Nikos Tsappis, current assistant police director of Paphos Michalis Nicolaou, Assistant Chief of Border Protection Michalis Katsounotos, senior state counsel Charis Karaolidou, officer K. Kleanthous, another sergeant serving in Paphos, two officers from Larnaca Police Directorate, officers from Limassol and two civilians.

Police announced the 13 European arrest warrants to facilitate investigations into offences concerning the Data Protection Law, Publication of False News and Harassment, committed between January and October 2025 in Paphos.

The case file had been with the Law Office since October, but recent action was taken to reach a decision, prompting procedures for issuing the warrants against her.

According to sources, government members do not appear to be among those who filed complaints.

Fotiou responded swiftly after the police announcement, posting on Facebook that she is not hiding and is speaking with Nicosia Police. In a video, she said the warrants were not issued now and claimed police decided to announce because her videos get many views.

She resides in Russia where she was granted asylum after expressing fears for her life, according to her statements.

In a new video posted on social media, she said: “With sadness I want to make some statements since you made me wanted for warrants that existed 200 years ago. You decided now to publish them because of the publicity my videos have. All this time that no one was listening to me, you didn’t care to publish the warrants. I want to thank the police because they used a nice photo of me.”

She added: “I feel fear to go out. I will remain hidden until you come to arrest me. You did so much to me and now you make me wanted as well. Since you’re like this, let’s go back to the beginning. I will republish all the videos I made about the Cyprus Police.”

The 43-year-old’s videos frequently deal with the underworld and crime, criticising police for inaction over high-profile criminal cases and corruption.
