A 66-year-old man arrested over a serious poaching incident in the Achelia area of Paphos, during which game wardens were threatened with a hunting weapon, has been released on bail.
The 66-year-old appeared before the Paphos District Court, which decided to release him on bail after he paid a surety of €5,000.
According to case details, the arrested man was charged with conspiracy to commit a felony, illegal possession and transport of a hunting weapon and explosives, poaching, as well as threat of violence.
Meanwhile, the 66-year-old refused to name the second person who was with him during the incident and who, according to police, is the individual who turned the weapon on the game wardens before fleeing.
At the same time, the second suspect remains at large, with police investigations continuing for his location and arrest.
