A batch of counterfeit Durex condoms has been recalled from the Cypriot market after authorities determined the products pose potential public health risks.
The Medical Devices Competent Authority ordered the withdrawal of batch 1001822485 of Durex Feel Thin men’s condoms with an expiry date of June 2029, stating they fail to meet safety and quality requirements under medical devices legislation.
The authority has called on consumers who possess the products not to use them and to return them immediately to the points of sale where they were purchased.
In an announcement, the Health Ministry confirmed the products are counterfeit medical devices. The competent authority is continuing its investigation in cooperation with relevant authorities, aiming to safeguard public health and ensure complete withdrawal of the products from the market.
The ministry added that if other related products are found on the Cypriot market, a supplementary or updated announcement will be issued.
