A rooftop fire in Latsia mobilised the Fire Service on Saturday afternoon (27/12) after a boiler room erupted in flames. The blaze tore through the property’s central heating system, causing extensive damage to the gas-fired boiler.

Fire Service spokesperson Andreas Kettis confirmed that the fire also wrecked the home’s plumbing and electrical installations. Quick-thinking residents or neighbours managed to isolate the gas supply before fire crews reached the scene.
Initial investigators believe an electrical fault within the gas heating installation sparked the fire.
