Anti-Narcotics Service (YKAN) officers arrested two men, aged 44 and 26, following a coordinated raid in Larnaca on Saturday morning. The operation targeted a suspected drug distribution point after police received intelligence regarding illegal activity at the older man’s residence.
Morning ambush and house search
Officers intercepted the 44-year-old at approximately 10:00 am as he left his home to enter his car. Armed with a judicial warrant, police searched the property and uncovered a significant haul of narcotics and paraphernalia:
42 grams of crystalline methamphetamine
29 MDMA pills (Ecstasy)
14 grams of herbal cannabis
Two precision scales bearing traces of methamphetamine
Smoking equipment and €240 in cash
A search of the suspect’s vehicle also revealed a hand-rolled cigarette containing a mixture of cannabis and industrial tobacco.
Buyer caught in the act
During the search, a 26-year-old man arrived at the property. Investigators determined he intended to purchase methamphetamine from the older suspect.
Police arrested both men on the spot for flagrant offences before re-arresting them under judicial warrants. The Larnaca branch of YKAN is leading the ongoing investigation.
