The Avakas Gorge trail in Akamas National Forest Park will close from Saturday due to adverse weather conditions, the Department of Forests said.
The department said the trail will remain shut from 6 December until the risk to visitors has completely passed due to high water flow, slippery ground and the danger of falling rocks and earth.
The Department of Forests, under the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment, apologised for any inconvenience to the public, noting the closure is necessary for safety reasons.
The department said it will issue a new announcement when the gorge is completely safe for visits.
