A pedestrian was killed in Kato Paphos this afternoon after being struck by a vehicle near the Tombs of the Kings area.
The 48-year-old driver of the car was subsequently arrested by police.
The accident occurred at approximately 5 pm on a road near a commercial department store.
The man was hit by a car driven by the 48-year-old man, under circumstances that are currently under investigation by police.
The victim was transported by ambulance to Paphos General Hospital in critical condition but succumbed to his injuries approximately two hours later.
Police examinations are ongoing at the scene to determine the exact circumstances of the tragedy. Authorities are also working to officially confirm the victim’s identity. The driver remains detained at the Paphos Police Headquarters for questioning.
