A woman, 49, was found dead inside her home in Paralimni on Thursday.
The woman’s body was found in the bathroom of the Paralimni flat at five minutes before 2pm on Thursday, with bloodstains in other parts of the property, according to sources.
The woman, a foreign national, had been missing for the past 24 hours, and searches had begun to locate her, initial reports said.
Famagusta police cordoned off the scene and called in the Police Headquarters Criminal Investigation Service.
Pathologists Angeliki Papetta and Orthodoxos Orthodoxou were called to the scene.
Police are treating the death as suspicious.
