The Larnaca District Court remanded three suspects aged 25, 34 and 46 in custody for seven days over the alleged assault and attempted kidnapping of a 46-year-old man following a financial dispute.
The suspects knew the victim and allegedly had financial disputes with him.
Officers arrested two of the suspects, aged 25 and 34, on Sunday afternoon. The 46-year-old, who was wanted, surrendered to police on Monday morning.
The 46-year-old victim reported that three men attacked him outside his home in Anafotia around 5pm on Saturday.
One of the three men hit him with a bat before they tried to force him into their car, according to the complainant.
The victim resisted and shouted, prompting his wife to call police. The three suspects then fled the area without carrying out the kidnapping, police said.
The victim named the suspects, and officers issued arrest warrants against them. The Kofinou Police Station is investigating the case.
