Cyprus is caught in an unusual late November scenario, balancing between summer and Christmas. With temperatures reaching 30 degrees, beaches filled with bathers, whilst a few kilometres higher up, mountain villages welcomed visitors in a distinctly festive environment.
As video footage shows, hundreds of people chose to spend their Sunday at Nissi Beach.
At the same time, the start of the festive period has created an entirely different atmosphere in the mountains.
Crowds headed towards the Christmas villages, seeking some of the magic of the holidays despite the absence of a wintry feel. Decorated houses, wooden stalls, and children’s activities make up the scene at the popular mountain retreats.

The simultaneous presence of summer and distinctly Christmas images within the same day highlights the unusual weather conditions prevailing on the island.
