A serious traffic accident occurred just before midnight yesterday when a 41-year-old man driving a van in reverse struck a 23-year-old pedestrian in a hotel in Paralimni.
The injured man, a tourist, was initially taken to a private clinic in Paralimni and then transferred to Famagusta General Hospital, where he was intubated. He was subsequently transferred by ambulance to Nicosia General Hospital, where he was admitted for treatment.
The 23-year-old suffered liver damage and multiple head injuries. According to treating doctors, his health condition is considered critical.
Famagusta Traffic Police are investigating the case.
