A 79-year-old woman was found dead after a fire broke out in her home in Pervolia on Thursday afternoon, police said.
The blaze started around 12:30 p.m. in the bedroom of the house and was noticed by neighbours, who forced their way in and found the resident lying unconscious on the floor of the hallway.
An ambulance was called to the scene, but paramedics confirmed that the woman had already died.
The Fire Service extinguished the fire before it spread to the rest of the house.
Police said the body showed no visible injuries or burns.
Kiti police station is investigating the circumstances of the woman’s death.
