Paphos police arrest man for attacking officer during alcotest

Police in Paphos arrested a 47-year-old man for attacking an officer, during a routine alcotest, an announcement said on Saturday.

According to police, the man was stopped overnight during routine checks, and during an initial alcotest he registered 47mg instead of the legally allowed 22mg.

Asked by officers to have another test conducted, the man then attacked the officer.

He was arrested and taken into custody.
