Deputy welfare ministry sets up blood drive for festive season

The personnel of the deputy ministry of social welfare are conducting a voluntary blood donation drive in collaboration with the Blood Donation Centre to bolster the blood bank in anticipation of increased demands during the Christmas and New Year holidays.

Under the auspices of Deputy Minister of Social Welfare Marilena Evangelou, the blood donation event will take place on December 21 at 12.30pm at the Engomi blood donation station.

“Donating blood is a gift of life to our fellow citizens who are in genuine need, making it the most beautiful Christmas gift for them,” the deputy ministry said in a statement.
