Tourist industry revenue surged in September

Tourism revenue experienced a notable surge in September.

In contrast to the tourist arrivals that achieved all-time highs in 2019, tourism revenue reached its peak in 2018 when it was calculated by the Statistical Service at €2.7 billion.

As announced yesterday by the Statistical Service, tourism revenue in September 2023 amounted to €428.4 million, a 23% increase compared to the same month last year.

The revenue for the first nine months is estimated at €2,456.1 million, compared to €1,965.4 million for the same period in 2022, marking a 25% increase.

Last year, the annual tourism revenue closed at €2,439.2 million.
