Bomb threats have increased in recent days at airports, schools, and monuments in France.
According to Le Figaro, today, Friday, several French airports have received bomb threats, as was the case on Thursday. In particular, fourteen regional airports were the target of threats and four were evacuated, causing disruption to French air traffic for the third day in a row.
In Bordeaux, “today at 12 noon, a new bomb threat forced us again to evacuate the airport,” was reported on the airport’s website. Pau and Biarritz airports were also evacuated. Rennes airport was evacuated for the third time in three days, Actu Rennes reported. In Nantes, a new bomb threat was received by email, but the airport was not evacuated. The alert was lifted at around 12:30 p.m., France Bleu Loire Océan reports. In addition to these airports, threatening messages were received by Lille, Beauvais, Tarbes, Brest, Toulouse, Carcassonne, Lyon and Nice.
The Palace of Versailles was evacuated for the fifth time
For the fifth time since Saturday, the Palace of Versailles was evacuated today, Friday, “for security reasons.” It will reopen “as soon as the checks have been completed” it is reported.
