European Central Bank Vice-President Luis de Guindos on Wednesday kicks off his working visit to Cyprus with talks with Governor of the Central Bank of Cyprus Constantinos Herodotou.
The talks are expected to focus on inflation and monetary policy in Cyprus, in parallel with ECB’s role in tackling the prevailing pressures.
The ECB Vice President will also be received by the President Nikos Christodoulides at the Presidential Palace.
Later on Wednesday, he will be the keynote speaker at the first annual conference in Limassol of the CBC under the title “The Role of Monetary Policy in Addressing Inflationary Pressures.”
Moreover, presentations will be given by João Sousa, Deputy Director General of DG Economics at the European Central Bank, and Ernest Gnan, Secretary General of SUERF – The European Money and Finance Forum, and Honorary Economic Advisor to the National Bank of Austria Governor.
They will discuss “Inflation uncertainty ramifications on investment and business decisions.”
A roundtable discussion will round up the conference with a live broadcast available on the Central Bank of Cyprus’ YouTube channel.
