Flourishing Potential
Some of the most important decisions parents will make are about their child’s education. They seek to find a place where they, their children can feel a sense of belonging, where everyone can thrive together. So what does it mean for pupils, students, and teachers to thrive in education? For ISN it means, to learn and grow or develop in a healthy way because of a positive, stimulating and caring environment and education system. Our vision and mission statement ‘We pave the Way’ encompasses all faiths and none, it highlights the learning journey of each individual child which is grounded in the learning environment, provision, culture, ethos, and values.
It is our objective that all learners understand that safe and healthy living, courtesy, kindness, good manners, and consideration of others are important. The 21st century demands and skills are sensitively taken into consideration, to maintain and develop in all learners lively and enquiring minds and to promote the ability to question and reason rationally.
ISN caters for children of all ages, of all abilities and talents, welcomes families from different cultural backgrounds, and it sets to make its motto ‘We Pave the way’ a Lifelong learning experience. We uphold the belief that ISN is a hub of a happy, well provided, and pastoral environment. We promote the love for global citizenship, respecting that all learning is part of a development within our strong, happy, and sustained community. This means that it includes in its set of values the need to respond to the educational, moral, economic, social, and environmental needs of all individuals.
There are so many opportunities for students to develop new talents, hone their current interests and explore new activities.
Throughout the year, students can join in a variety of programmes both on and beyond the campus. Our staff and external instructors offer their time and commitment to support students outside the classroom – whether it be coaching sports teams, producing musicals, leading field trips or supporting student leadership initiatives in or outside school.
Our goal is to encourage all students to participate in a wide range of fulfilling activities. We’re here to help each student find their niche – and then give them a positive environment in which to flourish. With a diverse range of activities on offer for younger and older children we create a happy atmosphere and our community thrives together. Some activities include, Chess Club, Pottery and Sculpting, Dance, Multi Sports, Robotics, Minecraft, Kids Yoga, Instrumental Programme, Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award, Pathways to Academic Success, Creative Writing Club, Gardening, Drama Club, and Sports. And many, many more.
Our vibrant, boarding House is a nurturing environment for your children to call home. Our Boarding is housed in a green area in the suburb of Lakatamia and Ayioi Trimithias. Our diverse and supportive boarding community is a ‘home away from home’, where students have the freedom to learn new skills, study and socialise with peers and the boarding team. As well as fostering lifelong learning and independence, it’s a place where lasting friendships are formed.
All staff and parents, acknowledge that “informal learning” as well as ‘structured curriculum-based learning’ occur daily, respecting traditions yet inspire students through innovative approaches makinglearning matter. Character building is a priority as we recognise that education and learning are major tools and strategies for transformation; this means that the school’s role is to design systemic structures and processes that nurture relationships with others, those involved in our community, also regionally, nationally and internationally.
ISN welcomes and values the role of parents and the wider community in active partnership with the school. The Parent Teacher Association, the Education Committee are where we share ideas, parent support is felt, and parent voice is heard.
ISN is an inclusive learning environment dedicated to the creative, curious and caring qualities of children. We provide a strong pastoral care. We make sure that every student feels understood, challenged, included and prepared for life beyond the school campus. Our Student Support Services team plays a key role in this important task.
In close collaboration with staff, students and parents, Student Support Services provides guidance, coaching, resources, and interventions when needed. In all that we do, we celebrate diversity and inclusion – acknowledging and embracing the fact that our students all learn differently.
With our support, we empower all learners to fulfill their individual potential. We specialise in helping students to overcome barriers to learning that may exist due to a range of circumstances – like language, learning, health, behaviour, or social/emotional needs. Equally, we support students who strive for academic, social, emotional, artistic, or athletic excellence.
