Ukraine says Russian forces seize Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant

Russian army forces have seized the Zaporizhzhia nuclear energy plant – Europe’s largest – in Ukraine‘s southeast, the regional state administration mentioned on Friday.

“Operational personnel are monitoring the situation of energy models,” it mentioned on social media, quoting the Ukrainian nuclear inspectorate.

It said efforts sought to make sure the operations had been consistent with security necessities.

Ukraine has mentioned Russian forces attacked the plant within the early hours of Friday, setting an adjoining five-story coaching facility on fireplace.
