The Department of Meteorology has issued a yellow warning for rain and isolated thunderstorms, in force from Wednesday 1 April at 18:00 until Thursday 2 April at 11:00.
A weak high-pressure system is currently affecting the area, but the storm system named Erminio, centred over Sicily, is moving eastwards and is expected to influence the region from Wednesday. Dust will appear in the atmosphere at intervals.
Local showers and isolated thunderstorms are forecast through Thursday afternoon. Temperatures will rise before dipping slightly on Friday 3 April.
