Yellow storm warning issued for Cyprus overnight with hail and rainfall expected

The Department of Meteorology has issued a yellow weather warning for isolated severe thunderstorms, forecasting hail, strong winds, and intense rainfall across the island beginning after midnight.

The warning is in effect from 00:00 on Tuesday, 25 November 2025, until 09:00 the same morning.

The isolated severe storms are expected to initially affect the northern and western coastal areas, progressively extending to the south and east throughout the early morning. Forecasters warn that hail is likely during the thunderstorms, and winds will be variable and strengthening.

Precipitation rates will range between 35 and 55 millimetres per hour, the Department of Meteorology noted.
