Yellow alert over extreme heat issued, temperature to rise to 40 C inland

The Meteorology Service on Sunday issued a yellow alert over extreme heat from 11am to 4pm and authorities warned the public to avoid too much sun exposure.

Authorities also warned that possible is the danger of dehydration and heat stroke while doing strenuous activities.

The temperature will rise to 40 C inland, around 31 C in the west coast, around 32 C in other coastal areas and 29 C in the mountains.
