Police in Larnaca arrested a man after he allegedly stabbed his employer at a construction site on Monday afternoon.
The incident took place on Raphael Santi Street.
The victim, a foreign businessman, was transported to a hospital for medical examination and treatment, but initial reports indicate his injuries appear to be non-life-threatening.
The suspect was apprehended by bystanders, who then handed him over to authorities.
According to new information, the motive for the attack appears to be a work dispute. The 49-year-old employer had reportedly reprimanded the worker for failing to show up for work.
Then the employee rushed to the site armed with a knife, where he then attacked the employer in the neck.
The scene of the incident has been sealed off for forensic examination.
