Police in Limassol were put on alert after receiving information about a dead person in the Ayia Triada area at around 1pm on Monday.
According to sources, the victim was a Greek Cypriot woman who was found dead in an abandoned apartment block. Police officers went to the scene and, at first sight, found that she had no external injuries. The area was sealed off and examinations are under way.
The same sources said the woman was 38 years old, unemployed and houseless.
Investigations by Limassol CID are continuing, while officers are expected to collect CCTV footage from the area to establish when the woman was last seen there.
