Cyprus is set for a mainly clear weekend before a change in weather pattern brings local rain and possible thunderstorms on Monday, accompanied by a drop in temperatures.
The weather on Saturday will be mainly fine, though increased cloud cover is expected over the mountainous areas during the midday hours.
Winds will blow mainly north-westerly to north-easterly, remaining light at three Beaufort, and the sea will be smooth to slight.
Temperatures are forecast to reach around 19 degrees Celsius inland and along the coasts, and eight degrees Celsius in the highest mountains.
Looking ahead, on Sunday, locally increased cloud cover during the afternoon is likely to bring isolated showers to the mountainous areas, with temperatures showing no significant change.
However, on Monday, local rain or thunderstorms are anticipated across the island, and temperatures are expected to fall.
By Tuesday, the weather is forecast to be mostly clear, and while temperatures will see a slight rise, they will continue to hover near or slightly below average climatic values for the season.
