Cyprus registered unemployment fell 6.6% year-on-year in July 2025, according to Statistical Service data based on Provincial Labour Office records.
The number of registered unemployed at the end of July stood at 11,088 people, down 789 from July 2024.
Seasonal adjustment shows different trend
However, seasonally adjusted figures, which better reflect general unemployment trends, showed a slight increase. July unemployment rose to 10,081 people from 9,947 in June, an increase of 134 people.
Sector-specific declines
The annual decrease was primarily attributed to falling unemployment in the education, construction, financial and insurance activities, and manufacturing sectors.
Registrations of new entrants to the labour market also declined, contributing to the overall drop in unemployment numbers.
