Authorities have proceeded with the arrest of two wanted brothers for the attempted murder of a 36-year-old man, following a chase in the sea area off Ormideia. The bloody incident took place on Saturday, 20 December, on Anexartisias Street.
According to information obtained by our website, around 9:00 AM, members of the British Bases Police, during a routine sea patrol, detected a boat carrying two people. When the officers attempted to carry out a check, the two men accelerated, attempting to escape.
A pursuit followed, and at the same time, the assistance of the Larnaca Port and Marine Police was requested. Following a coordinated operation, the two suspects were immobilised and arrested.
Procedures are currently underway for their handover from the British Bases to the authorities of the Republic of Cyprus, in order for them to be brought before a court.
