Authorities have arrested two additional suspects in connection with a drug case in Larnaca, following a violent confrontation two days ago where a suspect rammed a patrol car, injuring two officers.
Acting on intelligence, Drug Law Enforcement Unit (YKAN) officers attempted to stop a vehicle driven by a 23-year-old in Larnaca. A 22-year-old pedestrian nearby was immediately arrested. However, the 23-year-old driver fled the scene, repeatedly crashing into police vehicles to escape.
A subsequent search of the area uncovered a nylon package containing approximately one kilogram of cannabis.
Yesterday, police arrested another 23-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman on judicial warrants regarding the possession of the drugs. The Larnaca District Court ordered both to be remanded in custody for seven days. A 22-year-old suspect arrested previously remains in custody for eight days. The YKAN Larnaca branch continues its investigation.
