Two men were handed prison sentences for the possession of child pornography by the Larnaca criminal court on Tuesday.
One was sentenced to eight years behind bars, and the other to five.
The pair were both arrested in 2019 following the receipt of information by the police from Europol.
The police cybercrime unit then conducted a search at the house where both men lived.
They found four external hard drives, two mobile phones, and two laptops belonging to one of the pair.
The man then refused to hand over one of the hard drives before throwing it at a wall, causing it to be destroyed. He was therefore also found guilty of destroying evidence and obstructing the execution of a court order.
A mobile phone belonging to the second man was also found, which contained images and video files of child pornography.
