Tourism revenue rises, as Britons, Poles lead arrivals

Tourism revenue saw a year-on-year increase of 29%, according to the latest figures from the Passenger Survey conducted by the Cyprus Statistical Service (CyStat).

Specifically, December 2023’s tourism earnings amounted to €74.3 million, up from €57.6 million in the same month the previous year.

For the entire year from January to December 2023, tourism revenue is estimated at €2,990.6 million, a significant rise of 22.6% from €2,439.2 million recorded during the same period in 2022.

The average spend per visitor in December 2023 was €600.79, which is a 14.8% increase from €523.42 in December 2022.

Visitors from the United Kingdom, who represented the largest share of tourists at 23.4% in December 2023, spent an average of €56.23 daily.

Polish tourists, forming the second-largest group with 11.5% of total visitors for the month, had a higher daily expenditure of €69.89.

Greek tourists, the third largest group accounting for 10.3%, spent an average of €39.41 per day.
