Cyprus can expect mainly sunny weather over Easter Sunday and Monday, though Good Friday and Holy Saturday may bring some cloud and isolated showers, a meteorologist said.
Panagiotis Georgiou of the Department of Meteorology said Good Friday would be partly cloudy. “Isolated showers or a thunderstorm are expected in the morning hours, mainly in the west,” he said.
Holy Saturday would be mainly cloudy, Georgiou added, though the chance of rain was small. “There is a small chance of an isolated shower — not a thunderstorm,” he said.
He played down concerns about the two days, saying there was “nothing particularly noteworthy” about the forecast for Good Friday and Holy Saturday, and that any rain would not be intense.
Easter Sunday would be “mainly sunny,” Georgiou said, while Monday would start clear before high clouds moved in during the afternoon — though no rain was expected.
