These are the public holidays for 2026

Cyprus will have limited opportunities for long weekends in 2026, with many public holidays falling midweek or on Saturdays.

The year began with a public holiday on New Year’s Day, which fell on a Thursday, offering a break for those not working. However, the 2026 calendar offers few chances for extended breaks compared to previous years.

The main long weekends are confined to Epiphany Monday, Clean Monday, Easter Monday and Holy Spirit Monday. Many other holidays fall midweek or even on Saturdays, preventing the automatic creation of extended breaks.

The exception is Labour Day, which falls on a Friday this year.
